Novel excerpts are welcome as long as they are self-contained. Works with higher word counts will receive accordingly longer analyses. If you’re working on flash fiction and pieces of less than 1,500 words, you may submit more than one piece to meet the 1,500 words minimum.

In-Depth AnalysisIn-Depth Analysis closely examines your work according to the elements of dramatic structure, pointing out its strengths and areas in need of improvement. Comprehensive editorial suggestions, including grammar, word usage, and marketability. If applicable, reading suggestions for literary work relevant to yours will be provided and explained. In addition to an extensive written analysis, the copy of your manuscript will be returned to you with handwritten notes in the margin. Fee: 2-cents per word, with a minimum of 1,500 words If you want to add a line-by-line proofread, there will be an additional fee of: 1-cent per word
Line-by-Line ProofreadIf you’re comfortable with the elements of your dramatic structure, but need a second pair of eyes to proofread your work, this option offers a comprehensive line-by-line editorial look at your work, including word usage, grammar, punctuation, quality of dialogue, as well as general comments on content and overall use of structure. There will be no written analysis. Suggestions will be written by hand in the margins of your manuscript. Please include 2 copies of your work. They will be returned to you by mail. Fee: 2-cents per word, with a minimum of 1,500 words
Ongoing AnalysisWe all overlook mistakes, but agents and publishers don’t credit our potential. They judge what’s on the page, and if the quality of your manuscript isn’t up to industry standards, it will more likely thank not end up in someone’s trash bin. If you’re looking for an outside voice to guide your process of writing and rewriting your manuscript until it's at its best, Ongoing Analysis is the right option for you.

Hand in a rewrite and choose from one of two options: Basic Option: You mail in each revision, either sections or the entire revised manuscript, once it’s finished and receive a one-time analysis, pointing out strengths and areas in need of improvement. Fee: 1.5-cents per word (per submitted word, not per revised word) Ongoing Option: You mail or email me revised sections of your work, or sections that you are planning to revise. We will engage in an ongoing email exchange during which I will guide you through the process of reshaping your work. Fee: 2-cents per word (per submitted word, not per revised word) For general questions, you might want to consider the Phone Consultation option.
Phone ConsultationTalk about your material, ideas, and questions at any given point – while you’re in the middle of writing, before you’ve even begun, or after you’ve finished. Consultations will be charged in ten-minute increments. Fee: $10 per ten-minute increment**If we talk less than a full ten minutes, you will still be charged for a ten minute increment.
